If you are looking at SEO (search engine optimization) to drive those business opportunity leads to your web site, I find that most people are looking too much at numbers. You also do not want to get caught up in the amount of links, back links, or even page rank your competitors have. Trying to find a good keyword phrase that enough people are searching on can be difficult. Let me give you a few tips that might help you make a better decision!
When you begin this process, you are usually looking for a good word phrase with a good amount of traffic. Also, in your thinking process, one that would take the least amount of time to get on the first page!
More often than not, people will look at the top line of Google (or whomever) search window where it shows the total amount of web sites for that particular keyword phrase. If it shows a huge number, we will say four million, it scares most people away!
Actually, you want to look at Google results as they are around 70% of all searches done on the internet. MSN, Yahoo, and others also look at various other algorithms than Google and to be honest, are not worth chasing. If you take first page on Google, the others will follow suit!
Anyway, Do not stop there!
Go to the top two to three pages and find out who is there! First of all, scroll through and see if you see a video, press release, or article within those pages. Often when I am playing around, I will see an article or two withing those pages. If you do, especially on the first page, you might have hit pay dirt!
Look at the other sites on those first pages. If they have a large amount of stats...again I am talking about links, back links, and page rank...it is more than likely they have achieved a high level of positioning for your keyword phrase because of "some other keyword phrase" they are positioning for! If you want to get down to the nitty gritty, a quick look see of those sites will probably give you an idea of what keyword phrase they are really positioning for!
What does this mean?
You have a real good shot of getting a top position for your word phrase! Depending on the amount of traffic you are hoping to achieve, this might be the one to jump start your business opportunity!
Why are you using SEO? The traffic you are receiving are business opportunity leads specific to your niche! The best leads you can get!
